Bitoshi is a non-custodial payment platform. Because settlement goes directly to a Merchant’s own wallet and on-chain transactions are final, refunds and disputes work differently than with a custodial processor.
Platform fees
Bitoshi’s platform commission covers the processing of a payment. Platform fees are generally non-refundable once a payment has been processed, except where required by law.
Refunds to customers
Refunds to a customer are the responsibility of the Merchant who received the payment. Because funds settle directly to the Merchant’s wallet, Bitoshi cannot reverse, withdraw, or refund a payment on a Merchant’s behalf. Merchants should publish a clear refund policy and handle refunds directly with their customers.
Finality of on-chain settlement
On-chain stablecoin settlement is irreversible; there are no card-style chargebacks on settled funds. Always verify wallet addresses and amounts before transacting.
Disputes
Disputes about goods or services are between the customer and the Merchant. Bitoshi may provide transaction records to help resolve a dispute but does not adjudicate them or hold funds in escrow.
